Use of Acordion in popular music.
The acordion started to be used in popular music from the 1900-1960s. This period sometimes called the Golden Age of this musical instrument.The major players of this time was Pietro Deiro and PietroFrosini.

Is accordion a musical instrument of the past or it is gaining its popularity.
Typical modern band use guitar,bass guitar, drums and a keyboards and of course there is no such musical instrument as an accordion. It seems that accordion an old fashion squeeze box which is not popular anymore. But if you like an accordion music there are some bands who still use acordion . For example “Those Darn Accordions (TDA)” It is a
rock-and-roll band , Jhon Linell and Boozoo Chavis.

The folk type of music for Acordion
The folk type of music is very popular for button acordion. For example in Quebec (French Canada) folk music was played by accordionists in bars and restorans. They had such repertoire as Jigs, dance pieces and reels.
The button accordion also was very popular in Newfoundland .
The concertina, an musical instrument of the reed-organ family. It is very similar to the acordion , but there are several differences :it does not have a keyboard and it has a hexagonal ends. This musical instrument also been used in traditional music, in the hands of Ian Bell or others.

What is the difference between a piano accordion and a button accordion?
There are really two types of accordions diatonic acordion always has buttons; Chromatic can have buttons or keys.
Differences:
Diatonic Accordions are always button accordions. They can have more then one row of buttons-one,two,three.They have limited notes availible in the left hand and they are smaller,less expensive and not so heavy because they have less parts.
Chromatic Accordions they play all notes and can have a larger range of notes.Those accordions have full range of notes in the left hand which is good for accompaniment.They can produse more variety of sound.
